Mastering the Art of French Cooking

Last night I went to Hollywood.  More specifically, Mr. Johnson and I went to the historic Hollywood Theater in the Hollywood district of our city.  The palm tree ratio was down from California, but there was still a fantastic feel to the place.

We saw the movie Julie and Julia.  I had been wanting to see the movie for quite some time now.  But I had been waiting for it to come out at one of the many historic or pub theaters around town.  Cheap popcorn, good atmosphere, and maybe a microbrew...what more can you ask for?  I had a great time.  I though the story was a lot of fun and the film had many laugh out loud parts.  Julia Child is just so lovable, even when played by Meryl Streep (a woman I generally can't say the same for.)  The movie inspired me to cook French.  Somehow the processes to french cooking looked less intimidating to me then they have before, maybe it is because Julia's red dutch oven is so irrisistable.
